Heath W. Sorenson

Heath has provided results-driven leadership and expertise in the financial services industry since 1996. He is a member of the Wealth Management leadership team and is responsible for overseeing the division’s settlement trust group and client servicing activities, including technology strategy, compliance and day-to-day operations. Prior to joining Midland States Bank in 2010, his experience included positions as Vice President - Investment/Capital Market Operations for a major Midwestern regional bank holding company and as Chief Operating Officer of its brokerage/RIA subsidiary. Heath received his MBA from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. He has completed Northwestern University’s financial planning program and the Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust Audit, Compliance and Risk Management School and its Securities Operations School. Heath is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®), Certified Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialist (CFIRS), Certified Securities Operations Professional (CSOP), and a Professional Plan Consultant (PPC). He also holds the Series 7, 24, 53, 63, and 65 security licenses.
