What is a YouthSaver Account From Midland?

At Midland States Bank, our YouthSaver account is designed specifically for individuals under the age of 18. These savings accounts, which must be co-owned with either a parent or guardian, allow children to start building their funds from an early age.

As a co-owner, you'll have access to the account and the ability to make unlimited deposits. Once your child turns 18, the account will transfer to their name.

Parents and guardians can open a YouthSaver Account for any child under the age of 18 by providing some basic details:

  • Social security number or employer identification number
  • U.S. address

Yes, all funds in the savings account are FDIC insured up to the maximum coverage allowed.

When the child turns 18, the YouthSaver account will automatically change into a FlexSaver account in their name.
