Chief Investment Officer
John has provided progressive financial management and leadership expertise since 1982. He works closely with clients, corporations, foundations, financial institutions and trusts, establishing and communicating overall investment and financial planning strategies. John possesses comprehensive experience in portfolio management, fixed-income fund management, buy-side investment research, private-client advisement, employee stock ownership plans, relationship management and product development. Additionally, he oversees the research, evaluation and selection of investment vehicles and aligns investment selections with the Bank’s goals. Prior to joining Midland States Bank in 2013, he was senior vice president for a $26 billion Midwestern trust company and registered investment advisory firm. He also co-managed a bond mutual fund for 8 years. His education consists of a Master of Science Degree in Finance, Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor Degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University. Additionally, he taught courses in security analysis and portfolio management at Northern Illinois Graduate School of Business. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
